Vilniuse katedraal

1. Vilnius Cathedral

Vilnius Cathedral, specifically the Cathedral Basilica of St. Stanislaus and St. Ladislaus, is the main catholic church and the most important example of classicist architecture in Lithuania. The cathedral is beautiful both on the outside and inside, so it is definitely worth taking a look at it from the inside as well (entrance is free). Next to the cathedral there is a 57-metre bell tower that can be visited from Monday to Saturday.

2. Palace of the Grand Dukes of Lithuania

The Palace of the Grand Dukes of Lithuania is a historic residence that has bees restored transformed into a national museum. The museum collects, preserves, explores and presents the historical and cultural heritage of Lithuania, its rulers and the unique archaeological finds associated with it.

3. Gediminas tower

The Gediminas (castle) tower, the most popular tourist destination in Vilnius, is the only surviving part of the upper fortress of Vilnius. It is located on the Gediminas hill, which can be reached on foot free of charge or by lift for 2€. The mountain offers wonderful views of Vilnius - both the skyscraper area across the River Neris, the old town with red roofs and the Hill of Three Crosses in the middle of nature. The tower houses a small museum where you can explore the history of Vilnius and enjoy an even better view of the city on the last floor.

4. Šnekutis Restaurant

Šnekutis is a restaurant-beer bar serving traditional Lithuanian dishes. It is a pub-like place known for its cozy atmosphere and delicious dishes. The menu includes classic cepelinai and potato pancakes, but also much more.

5. Vilnius cathedral catacombs

The catacombs of the cathedral of Vilnius are the underground beneath the cathedral, where you can learn about the history of one of the oldest areas of Vilnius, the changes in the building of the cathedral, and the funeral traditions. In these undergrounds, the Grand Princes, Bishops and other important persons of Lithuania are buried. It is only possible to visit the catacombs on tours for which it is necessary to register in advance. It is also possible to take part in an extreme tour when registering in advance.
